I don't have to prove anything,
00:00
because I know there's not another vehicle
00:03
on that road that can beat me.
00:09
(uptempo urban pop music)
00:10
[Matt] I'm Matt D'Andria and this is Car Collectors.
00:14
My name is Jeff Dunham and I am a comedian
00:16
and a ventriloquist.
00:17
We're sitting right now in my
00:18
private warehouse in Los Angeles.
00:20
I drive them around as much as I can.
00:22
They don't just sit here.
00:23
a car is a piece of artwork.
00:26
Hey it's good to see you. Good seeing you again.
00:28
Thanks for coming by and seeing the toys.
00:29
Thanks for inviting me over.
00:30
I know you have such a great car collection,
00:31
I've been dying to see this for a while.
00:33
Tell me about this Humvee.
00:34
Well, it's acrtually not a Humvee.
00:36
It's a Hummer, because the Humvee are the military ones.
00:38
Yeah, that's the technical difference.
00:40
It's a DuPont chrome illusion paint.
00:41
It's a flip-flop paint.
00:43
So this particular one goes from blue
00:44
to purple to red to orange, depending on the light.
00:47
I promised my accountant that if I bought this thing,
00:50
I would drive it for 10 years
00:52
and never buy another vehicle,
00:53
and I drove this thing for 10 years.
00:54
This was my daily driver.
00:58
Jeff, a freaking Bat-mobile.
01:00
Not a Bat-mobile, the Bat-mobile.
01:02
It was a stand-in car.
01:03
It was actually used in the film.
01:05
[Matt] I've seen a lot of prop cars
01:06
and there's no way it came this way.
01:08
This car was made to drive
01:10
300 feet, twice.
01:11
It's a plywood, fiberglass prop.
01:13
We kept everything completely as it was
01:17
in the film, as we should have.
01:19
But on the inside, we made it drivable
01:21
and we put an LS7 engine in it, a Corvette engine.
01:24
We changed the suspension,
01:25
put air conditioning in it,
01:28
actually got it street legal.
01:30
We have four cameras on it, so you have no blind spots.
01:32
There's actually a license plate
01:33
that drops down electronically.
01:36
Alright, so can you open it up?
01:38
Well, you do it just like in the movie.
01:39
Bat-mobile, open.
01:45
I don't think it squeaked like that in the movie.
01:47
(laughter) Maybe.
01:48
Maybe.
01:49
I see you've got a Morgan back there.
01:50
What's unique about this car?
01:52
Built by hand by I guess like 30 guys in England.
01:57
We picked the paint, we picked the leather.
01:59
Whatever you want, they will put in this car.
02:01
I only have two non-American cars,
02:03
this one and the McLaren.
02:05
Let's go check it out.
02:06
Alright.
02:07
[Matt] Jeff, I absolutely love this car.
02:09
The McLaren is one of my favorite modern cars.
02:11
Tell me about why did you get this car?
02:14
On this McLaren, my favorite thing about it
02:16
is how to open the door.
02:17
Okay, is it like the Bat-mobile,
02:18
when you just say open?
02:20
I wish.
02:21
(laughing) So, it's unlocked.
02:23
It's ready to unlock.
02:24
Well, it's gotta be something down here.
02:26
There's no clue on how to open it.
02:27
I'll give you a hint.
02:28
You're not gonna feel anything.
02:30
There's no latch, there's nothing under there.
02:33
Some waving?
02:33
I think it's unbelievably cool.
02:35
You just stick your hand right here,
02:36
and slide it like this.
02:38
And that opens the door.
02:39
And that opens the door.
02:40
Go ahead.
02:41
I have the key, try it.
02:42
Just slide it along the bottom.
02:45
I don't think there's a quicker car
02:47
in this entire collection.
02:50
[Matt] Jeff, I love the Ford GT.
02:52
You must as well because you have two of them.
02:54
Yeah, exactly.
02:54
But they're two completely different vehicles.
02:56
Or maybe you just couldn't figure out
02:57
which color you wanted.
02:58
Well, this is the GT and this is the GTX1,
03:00
and the GTX1 was the Genaddi Group...
03:03
They got a hold of these,
03:06
blessed by Ford.
03:08
And they turned them into the GTX1.
03:10
They chopped the top off.
03:11
The car normally is what, about 550 horsepower?
03:14
They're a little more now. Theirs is?
03:15
[Jeff] 800 at the flywheel.
03:17
[Matt] Can we hear it?
03:17
Oh yeah, well sure.
03:18
You've gotta sit in it to hear it.
03:20
Alright, let's do it.
03:21
Hit the red button.
03:22
(ignition cranks) (engine revs)
03:25
That sounds amazing.
03:26
(laughter)
03:26
I kinda like it with the roof cut off.
03:28
Oh yeah, the roof cut off is great.
03:30
When I'm driving down in either one of them,
03:31
this is a lot more fun.
03:32
The other one's a little bit claustrophobic.
03:35
This is way nice.
03:37
The Plymouth 'Cuda, a beautiful vehicle.
03:40
[Matt] Alright, so what year is this?
03:42
[Jeff] It's a '70, numbers matching.
03:44
But it is a beautiful vehicle.
03:46
That's what American muscle's all about.
03:49
[Matt] And I love the color combination.
03:50
This is called the fender tag over here.
03:52
And in the fender tag is stamped,
03:54
in code, everything that this vehicle is.
03:57
Everything from what stereo is in there,
03:58
to what color the seats are,
04:00
to what size the engine is, all the little details.
04:03
It would go through the assembly line.
04:04
The guys would look at the code.
04:05
They would install whatever's on the code.
04:07
The screw would get painted over
04:09
and then the last inspector would come by,
04:12
inspect the car.
04:12
He would then take the last screw
04:14
and put it in by hand.
04:16
Alright well, thanks.
04:18
Yeah, little details that no one cares about.
04:20
(laughter)
04:21
Jeff, thank you so much.
04:22
What an amazing car collection.
04:24
Your McLaren, your Ford GTs, your muscle cars.
04:27
I dig your Morgan.
04:29
I wanna appreciate you guys coming by.
04:30
This has been a lot of fun.
04:31
So we'll do it again some time.
