00:03
Wham!
00:04
You know how badly that would hurt?
00:11
I'm Matt D'Andria, and this is Car Collectors.
00:15
My name is Bill Goldberg.
00:16
I am a former professional wrestler,
00:18
professional football player.
00:20
We are currently at Goldberg's Garage
00:23
here in Southern California.
00:25
Welcome.
00:27
Goldberg, my friend.
00:28
How are you, buddy? What's going on, big guy?
00:30
How you doin'?
00:30
Good, good.
00:31
Good to see you. You'd be proud.
00:32
I've been working out.
00:33
You're almost as big as my wife.
00:34
(Matt laughs)
00:35
Let's take a look at this car.
00:36
I know you've been working on it for a while.
00:37
I'd say, Working on it for a while,
00:39
is a mild understatement, man.
00:41
This car, it was my first muscle car,
00:43
'68 GTX Convertible all-original car.
00:46
Four-speed, numbers matching.
00:48
Tell me about the power plant in this thing.
00:50
[Goldberg] It's the reason why I bought this car,
00:52
big block four-speed convertible.
00:54
What else can you really ask?
00:55
[Matt] Yeah.
00:56
This was my first dabbling in restoring a car
00:59
so what did I do?
01:00
I bought the '68 GTX Hardtop,
01:03
and so I put 'em right next to each other,
01:05
and kinda used one as a copy.
01:08
'59 Biscayne, bought it at Goodguys.
01:11
The coolest thing about this car is it's a four-speed.
01:13
It's an original four-speed.
01:14
It's original paint.
01:16
348 tri-barrel car,
01:18
335 horsepower in 1959,
01:21
and the best part about it, it was a moonshine car
01:24
so if it had 800 pounds or 1,000 pounds
01:27
of liquor in the back--
01:28
Wait, wait.
01:31
It didn't move.
01:32
I can't move it. (laughs)
01:33
You can drive down the road,
01:35
and nobody knows you got 1,000 pounds of liquors
01:37
because the suspension hasn't moved a bit.
01:39
We've been talking about you doing some driving,
01:41
doing some racing recently,
01:42
and I know your wife does some racing.
01:44
Let's take a look at a race car.
01:46
Yes, this is my wife's race car.
01:49
No, that dent didn't happen as my wife was racing the car.
01:52
Right.
01:53
But when I was racing the car.
01:54
Years ago, I would have scoffed at pro-touring
01:57
but if you have a car that's not a numbers car,
02:00
then you know what, you could do whatever you want with it.
02:02
All right, well let's talk about a numbers car.
02:03
Let's talk about a classic car that you have,
02:05
the Lawman Mustang.
02:07
Here we are.
02:08
The story behind this
02:09
is that I watched 60 Minutes in November
02:13
and I saw this special on a Lawman tour.
02:15
A guy named Al Eckstrand
02:17
who was a corporate lawyer for Chrysler,
02:18
and he had two Boss 429,
02:20
and he'd set up safety driving courses
02:23
at the VAs and at the bases all throughout Asia,
02:26
and for the people who couldn't come out of the VA,
02:30
they got to go to the window,
02:31
and see this thing rip up and down the tarmac.
02:34
As cool as it sounds, as cool as it drives,
02:37
for me, it means more to my heart as an American
02:41
that I have the responsibility
02:43
of showing people this car now.
02:45
It's really cool.
02:46
It makes me emotional.
02:47
(Matt laughs)
02:48
Don't cry.
02:49
It's all right, you'll be all right.
02:50
It's all good. You'll be all right.
02:51
1967 Mercury truck.
02:55
It sat outside in Saskatchewan for 30 years
02:59
before I got it.
03:01
Every person in my wife's family learned how to drive
03:04
in this thing, and so I can guarantee you
03:06
that this has got more money in it
03:07
than any '67 Mercury in existence.
03:11
Let's talk about horsepower.
03:12
Then let's talk about that.
03:13
Let's talk about this car right here.
03:16
Not only does it have, how much horsepower?
03:18
It's pushing like 900.
03:19
Power-to-weight ratio far greater than a Ninja
03:22
or any of those sportbikes.
03:23
The reality is, why I have it is under that hood.
03:26
This basically was a motor that they pulled out
03:29
in one of their race cars.
03:30
And it's loud.
03:31
It's sickening loud.
03:33
Did you wear your pants today?
03:34
Well I do.
03:36
I have them on right now.
03:37
Let's go for a ride but don't hold back.
03:39
Till morning. (Matt laughs)
03:41
(car revving loudly)
03:50
(Matt shouting)
03:52
(lively rock music)
03:56
I think I got hit by a bug.
03:59
How do you like them apples? (Matt laughs)
04:01
It was absolutely insane.
04:02
Ladies and gentlemen, do not try that at home.
04:05
How are your pants doing there?
04:07
You got a little extra gift in there now
04:09
after that ride?
04:10
He's outta here.
